Worksop Fire Station

Location

Vesuvius Way, Worksop, S80 3NE

About

Worksop Fire Station is part of the Service's North Group – which also includes neighbouring stations such as Warsop, Retford and Harworth. Based on Eastgate, it serves the communities of Worksop and the surrounding areas within the Bassetlaw District.

The Fire Station – which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013 - is currently staffed by four Wholetime Duty System (WDS) Watches and a Retained Duty System (RDS) section. The Wholetime Firefighters crew one standard fire appliance which provides fire cover twenty four hours a day throughout the year, they are supported by RDS Firefighters crewing an additional fire appliance.

When not attending emergency incidents the crews at Worksop carry out vital training, equipment testing and take part in a range of community activities – including visiting local schools and doing home safety checks. The retained staff also meet once a week when they carry out a variety of training to ensure they are ready should they ever be needed.

Staff at the station also organise an annual Open Day where local residents are invited to take a look around the station.
