Misterton Fire Station
Location
Fox Covert Lane, Misterton, Doncaster, DN10 4DLAbout
Based on Fox Covert Lane, Misterton Fire Station is part of the Service's North Group – which also includes the neighbouring Harworth Fire Station. The station, and the staff that serve there, provide fire cover to Misterton and the surrounding areas such as West Stockwith and Walkeringham. They also sometimes venture into Lincolnshire.
The station is staffed by on-call staff only, who carry pagers with them and respond from home, or another place of work, whenever required.
The station is currently on the lookout for new recruits and if you think you've got what it takes, they would love to hear from you. Send them a message on their Facebook page or pop in on their drill night.
The station is also home to a medical co-response vehicle, which is staffed by firefighters at the station who respond to medical emergencies in the area on behalf of the East Midlands Ambulance Service. To ensure their skills are kept up to date for when they are called to emergency incidents, the crew trains at the station every Tuesday night between 6.30 pm and 9 pm.
Misterton is also home to a unique community safety facility called Risky Rooms. Set up in the drill yard at the station, this is a room designed and set up to emulate a normal home that contains a variety of fire hazards and other risks. Staff at Misterton run regular tours for school children around the room where they highlight the risks that exist, and how they can be rectified.
