Harworth Fire Station

Location

Scrooby Road, Harworth, DN11 8JW

About

Based on Scrooby Road in the heart of the community, Harworth Fire Station is part of the Service's North Group – which also includes neighbouring Misterton. The station, and the staff that serve there, provide fire cover to Harworth, Bircotes, and the surrounding area. Based close to the border, they also sometimes venture into South Yorkshire.

The station is staffed by on-call staff only, who carry pagers with them and respond from home, or another place of work, whenever required. Some staff at the station actually work elsewhere in the Service as full-time firefighters.

The station is also home to a medical co-response vehicle, which is staffed by firefighters at the station who respond to medical emergencies in the area on behalf of the East Midlands Ambulance Service.

To ensure their skills are kept up to date for when they are called to emergency incidents, the crew trains at the station every Wednesday night.

A number of community groups also utilise the facilities at Harworth during the day.
