Edwinstowe Fire Station

Location

Mansfield Road, Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, NG21 9QT

About

Edwinstowe Fire Station is located centrally in the village and is part of the Service's North Group – serving the Newark and Sherwood District.

It was initially a retained station but became a Wholetime Fire Station in April 2012. Each Watch consists of one Watch Manager, one Crew Manager, and three Firefighters. There is also a Point of Contact Station Manager who has overall responsibility for the management of Edwinstowe Fire Station, although this Station Manager also has responsibility for other stations in the Newark and Sherwood District.

Edwinstowe has a large station ground, which covers sizeable rural areas, with Sherwood Forest being the most well-known. But also covers numerous villages such as Ollerton and Farnsfield.

When not responding to incidents the crews carry out regular training, equipment testing, and home safety check visits. They also do a lot of fire prevention work and attend community events where possible.
