We are open to considering different working patterns which can help us provide a better service to our community while supporting you with your home life. Most of our non-operational/support roles are also open to agile working, which provides employees with the ability to mix office and home working. Additionally, we have flexible duty and flexible time schemes which allow employees to be more flexible over start and finish times.

Annual Leave

Non-operational/support employees are given 27 annual leave days per year plus bank holidays, as well as an additional Christmas concessionary day. Annual leave increases depending on your years of service and your job grade.

Wholetime Firefighters are given 408 hours per year of annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) which is 34 days of annual leave (based on 12-hour days). After 5 years this increases to 444 hours.
