We're pleased to report that we have assisted Cadent and have been able to isolate the gas. Residents will start returning to their properties imminently and emergency service crews will be leaving the scene shortly.
Huge thank you to everyone's cooperation whilst we dealt with the incident.
Update | 10.45AM | Friday 17 April 2026
We still have five fire engines on scene at the gas leak on Tevery Close, Stapleford. We're now joined by Nottinghamshire Police, Environment Agency and Cadent Gas who are helping us resolve the incident.
Around 30 properties have been evacuated as a precautionary measure. No injuries have been reported.
There has been some speculation on social media around this being an explosion - we can confirm that this is a gas leak, and all agencies at the scene are working hard to resolve it as effectively and efficiently as possible. We ask that people continue to avoid the area - thank you.
