Two fire engines and an aerial ladder platform remain at the scene on Radford Road in Nottingham, where crews continue to tackle the fire.

Radford Road remains closed between Northgate and Eland Street while operations are ongoing.

Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene for several more hours as they work to fully extinguish the fire.


Update - 1:00pm

Crews continue to work hard at the scrap metal fire on Radford Road, in Nottingham. We continue to urge local residents to keep their doors and windows closed and for people to avoid the area.


Update - 12:00pm

Six fire engines, two aerial ladder platforms and a water carrier are currently being used to extinguish a fire at a scrap metal facility on Radford Road, Nottingham.

We ask all local residents and businesses to keep their doors and windows closed, and for the public to avoid the area.


Fire - 10:30am

We're currently in attendance at a scrapyard fire on Radford Road, Basford. The call came in at 10.31am.

We've got six fire appliances and an aerial ladder platform in attendance and understand there is a large smoke plume.

Please close doors and windows if you live or work locally.

Importantly, please avoid the area - this is an emergency incident and it's important our crews have space to work and access the site.
