On-call recruitment is now open

Posted on 30 January 2023

Do you need more? We are excited to announce that from Monday 30 January, we will be opening applications for on-call firefighters at all our on-call fire stations, except Hucknall.

If you live or work near to an on-call fire station, then this could be your new role.

On-call firefighters are a vital part of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service. They provide an efficient, effective service that gives emergency cover across the county, trained to the same standard as our full-time colleagues.

In Nottinghamshire, on-call firefighters make up 38% of our operational firefighters and are generally located in rural communities, small towns, and villages.

Visit our webpage for an insight into the role of an on-call firefighter, the types of activities you could expect to be involved in, as well as details about the recruitment process.

As part of our recruitment drive, we are running several webinars and ‘Have a Go Days’. You can sign up to these via Eventbrite.

8 February 9am and 1pm ‘Have a Go Day’ at Carlton Fire Station
