Toy Appeal For Vulnerable Children Launched Across Nottinghamshire
Posted on 06 November 2024
This festive period, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is working with charities across the county in a combined effort to keep the magic of Christmas alive by donating toys to local children in need.
The initiative is back up and running again after a successful first year last year, where thousands of toys were donated to the Service and distributed to different charities, including Tara’s Angels and Midland’s Women’s Aid.
This year we’re accepting (brand new in packaging and unwrapped):
- Age 0-10: toys, puzzles, games and teddies
- Age 11-16: gift sets, make-up and toiletries, stationery and gift cards
Please drop off your toy donation to any fire station across Nottinghamshire between now and Sunday 15 December 2024. There are further drop off locations across the county too, which are listed below:
- Morrisons – Gamston, West Bridgford, NG2 6PS
- Tesco – Hucknall, Ashgate Road, NG15 7UQ
- Asda – Arnold, Front Street, NG5 7ED
- Eclipse Barbers – Chilwell Retail Park, NG9 6DS
- Old Mill Club – Stapleford, Mill Road, NG9 8GD
The Service’s employee Women’s Network, who are coordinating the initiative, said: “Last year we were completely blown away by the generosity of our staff and local communities.
“We hope that this year we can provide the same amount of donations, if not more, to people across Nottinghamshire that might not otherwise receive Christmas presents.
“If you want to donate to this year's toy appeal, please drop off brand-new in-packaging toys to any of the drop off points before Sunday 15 December. We are also accepting gift cards for older children too.”
