Celebrating Black History Month

Posted on 01 October 2022

Black History Month takes place during the month of October and is an opportunity to celebrate the community but also recognise the racism and discrimination that Black people continue to face in society.

This year's theme is 'Time for Change: Action Not Words' which encourages people to come together around a common goal to achieve a better world for everyone.

To celebrate the month, we are sharing videos with staff internally and recipes that firefighters can make on station or our staff at home.

Our staff network, the Ethnic Minority Alliance, has been working with our partners to deliver a joint event being held at Brendon Lawrence Centre on Saturday 8 October from 1pm.
