The Authority’s accounts are subject to external audit by KPMG LLP, 58 Calrendon Road, Watford WD17 IDE. Members of the public and local government electors have certain rights in the audit process:

1. From 3rd June 2024 to 12th July 2024 between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm any person may inspect the accounts of the Authority for the year ended 31 March 2024 and certain related documents (comprising books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts) at the address given below. They may also make copies of the accounts and documents. Any person wishing to make such an inspection of the accounts must contact the Nottinghamshire and City of Nottingham Fire Authority to make an appointment by telephoning 0115 8388100 and asking for the Head of Finance.
2. A local government elector for the area of the Fire & Rescue Authority, or his/her representative, also has the right to ask the auditor questions about the accounts, object to the Authority's accounts asking that the auditor issue a report in the public interest and/or apply to the court for a declaration that an item in the accounts is contrary to law. These rights are exercised during the external audit period.
3. From 3rd June 2024 to 12th July 2024, a local government elector within the area of the Authority, or his/her representative, may make an objection about the accounts to the auditor concerning a matter in respect of which the auditor could make a public interest report or concerning an item of account that he/she thinks is contrary to law. Written notice of a proposed objection and the grounds on which it is made must be sent to the auditor at the address given above and copied to me at the address given below.
