New Smoke Alarm Reminder Service Launched Across Nottinghamshire

Posted on 14 May 2024

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service launch brand new reminder service to highlight the importance of smoke alarm ownership across the county.

The service is urging the public to prioritise the testing of their smoke alarms, and have introduced a free smoke alarm testing reminder service to help with this.

All you have to do is sign up with your email address, and we'll send you regular reminders to test those alarms.

Smoke alarms have been proven to save lives and we recommend testing them once a week. We also advise having one smoke alarm on each level of your home, and replacing them every ten years regardless of their condition.

Every second counts when it comes to fire, and by ensuring that smoke alarms are in proper working order, the communities of Nottinghamshire are giving themselves extra seconds to get out, if there was ever a fire.
