Fire Protection visit Fire Safety Event

Posted on 02 May 2024

This week Fire Protection visited the Fire Safety Event at the NEC in Birmingham.
It gave the team a chance to examine and discuss many of the latest products coming to market including fire stopping systems, intelligent detection & alarm technology as well as new training being offered by established providers.
Whilst there, the team also had the opportunity to attend some short seminars highlighting new legislation, emerging risks and the future of fire risk assessment for Higher Risk Buildings. This provided a lively discussion on competence in the industry.
It was also a great opportunity to network with professionals across the fire sector and to understand some of the competing demands placed on Responsible Persons to ensure compliance with the new legislation.
Fire Safety Inspector Chloe Cutler said “In a male dominated industry, it was great to get the chance to have a chat with some of those on the ‘Women Talking Fire’ stand, an independent women’s networking group for the UK fire safety industry. I was able to gain an insight into their roles and the part they play within the sector".
