Thousands Of Easter Eggs Delivered To Children Across Nottinghamshire

Posted on 17 April 2025

This Easter, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has once again shown its commitment to supporting communities in more ways than one.

Staff from across the Service have gone above and beyond by organising and hosting an Easter Egg appeal for the third year running.

This heartfelt initiative asks for donations of chocolate eggs from both staff and the public, and thanks to the incredible generosity of those involved again this year, over 4,000 Easter eggs have now been delivered to children across Nottinghamshire who may not have otherwise received one this year.

The appeal included collections supported by our fire stations, non-operational departments, and the wider community, as well as the annual Easter Egg Run.

This years egg run, which was held on Sunday 13 April, collected 2,500 eggs alone from 809 bikers. Bikers rode from the Forest Recreation Ground to Mansfield Fire Station, and the donations have now gone to family centers across the county.

Further donations have gone to the Queens Medical Centre (QMC), Nottingham City Hospital, Midland's Women's Aid, Maggie's Treatment Centre, NIDAS, Ashfield's Social Service's and When You Wish Upon A Star.

From behalf of everybody at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, we would like to thank every single individual who has got involved with this appeal and donated eggs to us - each and every one of you has helped bring a little bit of extra joy to families across Nottinghamshire this Easter.

We would also like to thank those retailers who have collected Easter eggs on our behalf, including Beeston Tesco, Hucknall Tesco, Sutton-in-Ashfield Morrisons, Kirkby-in-Ashfield Morrisons, Gamston Morrisons and Rothera Bray Solicitors.

As a Service, we are proud to serve and support our communities, not just in times of emergency, but through ongoing initiatives that brings people together.

We hope everyone across Nottinghamshire has a happy and safe Easter.
