What3Words

What3Words is a geocoding system designed to identify any location on the planet down to a 3m by 3m square. The application generates 3 random words for each 3mx3m square.

What3Words can be used to identify your location, or the location of an incident, to allow the emergency services to respond. In the event that an incident is in an isolated location, 999 control operators may ask if the caller has access to the What3Words application to allow them to effectively organise a response to your whereabouts.
