NFRS 2024 32 - Joanne Bowcock

I write to you with regard to public claims made by Joanne Bowcock regarding her service in Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

We do not believe Joanne Bowcock was the 2nd female to join Notts FRS. We believe she commenced Service until 2003, not 2002 as claimed.

Our Response

Answer: - The Deputy Chief of West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service Jo Bowcock commenced employment with NFRS in 2003. Prior to this a total of 40 female Firefighters (RDS and Wholetime) had been employed by NFRS.
