NFRS 2024 28 - Fire in cannabis grows

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information about fires at cannabis factories, and suspected cannabis factories, within your authority.

I am requesting the data for the following calendar years, 2019-2024 (until latest available date in 2024):

1. How many fires were recorded at suspected or confirmed cannabis factories inyour authority, in each year?
2. If any, how many fatalities were recorded at each incident?

Our Response

1. How many fires were recorded at suspected or confirmed cannabis factories inyour authority, in each year?
   Answer: - 2 incidents recorded where the phrase ‘Cannabis Factory’ was recordedwithin the body of the incident.
   • 2019: 1
   • 2021: 1
   Please be advised our incident management system does not have a specific field forrecording if the incident related to a ‘cannabis factory’ as they are not a requirementand relies on the comments of the Firefighters in attendance.
2. If any, how many fatalities were recorded at each incident?
   Answer: - No Information Held, there were no fatalities.
