Our Response

  1. Number of incidences attributed to:
    1. Solar PV
Answer: - 1, cause 'Other' (electrical fault with battery storage container withininverter room). Private solar panel farm substation. One of the inverters had anelectrical fire. Extinguished using dry powder extinguishers. Incident handedover to responsible person and post incident handover completed.
    2. Battery Storage System
Answer: - 1, cause 'Other'(electrical fault with battery storage container withininverter room). Smoke within container housing battery storage system locatedexternally of main power station buildings. Light wispy smoke found in inverter side of the unit; battery storage side was clear of smoke. Utilities had been isolated by EDF on site personnel resulting in dispersal of smoke due to removal of ignition source. Suppression system within battery side isolated to allow further internal inspection of inverter cabinets. No sign of fire. ignition source identified small electrical fault; handover form completed stating all equipment to be inspected by qualified engineer prior to power being turned back on to container.
    3. Heatpump (Airsource)
      Answer: - No Information Held
    4. Heatpump (ground source)
      Answer: - No Information Held
    5. Wind turbine
Answer: - 1, due to deliberate ignition
    6. Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment
Answer: - 1, cause 'Not known'. Lithium Ion Battery being charged by generatorinside trailer appears to be the cause
  2. Number of injuries caused by the incidences in question 1.
Answer: - No Information Held, all incidents had no injuries.
  3. Number of deaths caused by the incidences in question 1.
Answer: - No Information Held, all incidents had no fatalities.
  4. What was the cause of the incidences (based on IRS categories)?
Answer: - Please refer to answers in question 1
  5. Can the problems be pinpointed to:
    Answer: - No Information Held.
  6. Were the affiliated switchgear, and protective devices (e.g., MCB, Fuse, RCBO,RCD, etc), in the consumer unit/distribution board checked to be suitable andcorrectly sized for the installation, considering the potential increased currentflows and bi-directional operation
    Answer: - No Information Held.
  7. (7) What was the age of the installation?
