I hope you are well. I am currently in my final year of studying a BSc in Fire and Rescue at the University of Wolverhampton, where I am writing a research project on the newly increasing fire hazards of lithium-ion batteries within our homes.
I am writing this email to request figures on the number of fires which occurred in a domestic premise caused by lithium-ion batteries (Only E-bikes and E-Scooters) over the last five years, as well as the data regarding if any members of the public who have sustain any sort of injury as a result of this

Answer: - Please note that there is no method of recording lithium batteries on the formother than in freetext entries and comments, hence there may be incidents that cannotbe identified.
E-bikes:- 2019: 0
- 2020: 0
- 2021: 1
- 2022: 0
- 2023: 1
E-scooters:- 2019: 0
- 2020: 0
- 2021: 0
- 2022: 1
- 2023: 1
- Of those incidents in question 1, how many sustained any sort of injury as aresult of this.
Answer: -- E-bikes: 1 injury in 2021 and 1 injury in 2023.
- E-Scooters: 3 injuries in 2023.
