Posted on 01 August 2023

For the first time since 2020, the Chief's Challenge is returning! And this year it is an extra special one - not only is it to celebrate the Fire Fighters Charity's 80th birthday, it is also Craig Parkin's first Chief's Challenge.

Chief Fire Officer, Craig Parkin, said: “I am really excited for this challenge as it is my first as the Chief Fire Officer for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service. I have always joined in on them, however it is great knowing that this is my very own challenge.

“I love cycling in my spare time, so I felt it was only right to do this to restart them. I am going to be cycling over 80 miles around Nottinghamshire, to celebrate 80 years of the Fire Fighters Charity.

“I am encouraging people to get involved, so if you want to come and support me, feel free to drop by any of our fire stations throughout the day.

"I know we are living in hard times at the moment, but I will be collecting donations through my JustGiving Page, so if you can donate, no matter how big or small, then it would be appreciated from both myself and The Fire Fighters Charity."
