Supporting the Covid-19 booster programme

Posted on 14 December 2021

In response to the national guidance around Covid-19 booster vaccinations, we are deploying several Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service staff once again to the vaccination programme as of today (14 December 2021).

We have Firefighters and support staff ready to work around the county to support our partner organisations in the programme.

Chief Fire Officer, John Buckley, said:

"I am proud to announce that we have a number of staff who will be working in Nottinghamshire to help provide Covid-19 booster vaccinations following the Government's push to get everyone eligible for a booster, jabbed by the end of the year.

"As a fire service we want to be able to make a difference in our communities, and if that includes being involved in the response to the new variants, then we will do all we can to help.

"Fire and rescue service staff have given almost half a million vaccinations so far this year. NFRS staff have given one in seven of those, which is a fantastic achievement and something we are very proud of.

"In line with Government guidance I encourage as many people as possible to ensure they take up the offered vaccines to ensure they keep themselves and loved ones safe."
