Original release

At 3.17am this morning (20 November) we were called to a fire in Fairisle Close, following calls from members of the public who had seen smoke.

The fire was in a first floor flat of a two-storey residential property.

One fire engine from West Bridgford fire station, two from London Road and one from Highfields attended the incident.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which they did so at around 4am.

Three causalities from the 1st floor flat were treated at the scene by EMAS for smoke inhalation – an adult thought to be in their 30s and two young children. They were then taken to hospital.

Residents from neighbouring properties were temporarily evacuated.

The police also attended and a joint police and fire investigation will take place later this morning.
