No suspicious circumstances led to death of woman on Tintern Drive

Posted on 19 December 2022

A fire investigation has concluded there were no suspicious circumstances which led to the death of a Nottingham woman in a house fire.

Emergency services were called to Tintern Drive, Whitemoor, Nottingham, at 1.28pm on Monday 12 December 2022.

The woman, aged in her 70s, died at the scene.

Lucie Poxon, Fire Investigation Manager at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: "Our thoughts remain with the family of the woman involved and we send our deepest condolences to them.

"A fire investigation has been completed and we have found no suspicious circumstances led to the woman's death.

"We would like to remind people to test their smoke alarms regularly and have an escape plan which everyone in your house is familiar with."

A file is being prepared for the coroner ahead of an inquest, at which time an exact cause can be publicly confirmed.
