Leila Berry Appointed As New Nottinghamshire Assistant Chief Fire Officer

Today (Friday 19 September 2025) the Nottinghamshire and City of Nottingham Fire Authority has approved a recommendation to appoint Leila Berry as Assistant Chief Fire Officer for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The recommendation was made by the Combined Fire Authority’s Appointments Committee on Monday 18 August, following a competitive selection process.

Leila has more than 20 years of public sector experience, having started her career at Nottingham City Council as a Health and Safety Officer, before joining Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service in 2010.

In 2018, she progressed to Risk & Assurance Manager, before joining the Strategic Leadership Team as an Area Manager the same year.

During her time as Area Manager, Leila has overseen a number of departments including Corporate Support, Risk and Assurance, Operational Training and most recently People & Organisational Development.

Leila said:
