International Women's Day 2023

Posted on 08 March 2023

Today is International Women’s Day and the Service has already been in full swing celebrating this year’s theme of #EmbraceEquality. A wide range of activities for internal staff and community outreach have been coordinated by the Service’s Women’s Network.

So far, we’ve attended school career's fairs, colleges, sporting events, Nottingham City Council Celebrations, and represented the Service at the Local Government Association Conference.

Women from across the Service have come together to be part of our video for International Women's Day, featuring Rookie reporter Isabelle. Isabelle spent time in different roles across the NFRS, from Firefighter to Business Intelligence.

Olivia Houston, Graphic Design Apprentice, said “I was so happy to be given this opportunity to create this video for International Women’s Day, as I believe it’s important to showcase the wide array of jobs women do in the Service. The Women’s Network would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took time to support this project, and Isabelle for doing an amazing job filming over two days.”
