NFRS Shortlisted For Three Excellence In Fire & Emergency Awards

Posted on 28 October 2025

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) has been shortlisted for three awards at this years’ Excellence in Fire and Emergency (EFE) Awards.

Nominations include Project Of The Year, for the Service’s LGBTQI+ Video ‘Enough is Enough’, Unsung Hero for firefighter Arron Enever, and Group Manager and Chair of NFRS’ LGBTQI+ Network, Charlotte Weatherall-Smith, for Most Influential LGBTQIA+ Individual in Fire.

This year is the 11th annual Excellence in Fire and Emergency Awards, and the ceremony is being held on Friday 5 December 2025 at One Great George Street, London.

These award nominations come one year on from winning Emergency Service of the Year 2025 – a very proud moment for everyone at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service. The momentum keeps building however, as we strive to become Outstanding by 2032.

Chief Fire Officer, Craig Parkin DL, said: “Year on year we see ourselves shortlisted at the Excellence in Fire and Emergency Awards and each year I come away feeling prouder.

“The work across our Service keeps improving, and I have no doubt that it’s only going to get better, so it’s amazing to know this is being recognised nationally.

“Congratulations to both Charlotte and Arron, as well as the team behind the amazing video that was released earlier this year – something that supported our LGBTQI+ communities and made them feel heard. I really hope that we come away from the ceremony in December after winning these awards, as not only will it be another great end to the year, but something that all three truly deserve.”
