Edwinstowe's fundraiser for John Eastwood Hospice Trust

Posted on 07 July 2022

Edwinstowe Blue Watch presented the John Eastwood Hospice Trust with a cheque worth £500 following their successful fundraiser.

Firefighters from Edwinstowe Fire Station teamed up together to be able to hold a car wash last month to raise money for both The Fire Fighters Charity, and John Eastwood Hospice Trust.

Crews wanted to raise money for the John Eastwood Hospice Trust as former Edwinstowe firefighter and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service employee of 39 years has been using the trust and their services over the past few months.

Edwinstowe Watch Manager Scattergood said: “It was a pleasure to host our car wash for these charities, as they are both very important to myself and the crews here at Edwinstowe Fire Station.

“We are extremely pleased to announce that a grand total of £821.59 was raised from this event, with £500 of it going to the John Eastwood Hospice Trust.

“We would like to personally thank everyone who came to our car wash, and to our local community for supporting us, as we wouldn’t have been able to raise this amount of money without them.”

Lisa Todd, Fundraising Innovation Manager at John Eastwood Hospice Trust, said: “Our hospice is funded purely from charitable donations, so this money is greatly appreciated.

“It will go towards the running of the hospice, so we can provide our patients and their families with specialist palliative care and support.

“On behalf of everyone at the hospice, we would like to thank all who helped and took part in Edwinstowe’s car wash and the Edwinstowe community for supporting it. This donation really does make a difference.”
