Conclusion

This workforce plan has outlined a wide range of activities being delivered across the organisation over the next three years. We will need to ensure that workforce and resourcing risks and implications are considered in order to effectively deliver these objectives.

The following areas have been highlighted and will need to be prioritised in order to further strengthen our approach to workforce planning:

  • Department heads to ensure that individual workforce issues are noted in the new departmental risk registers.
  • Key workforce planning priorities and principles are agreed and governance arrangements are developed to ensure a cohesive, holistic approach is adopted. Corporate risks and issues will then be collectively owned by this group.
  • Workforce diversity ambitions are agreed and reporting arrangements are agreed.
  • Learning and Development function need is scoped and agreed in year one of this plan.
  • A recruitment and promotion process timeline is agreed avoiding short-notice processes.
