Scope of the strategy

Our enabling services are an essential part of our organisation and play a critical role in Creating Safer Communities, supporting colleagues in the delivery of our core public-facing services. Collectively they are responsible for:

  • Procuring and maintaining all our vehicles and equipment, ensuring that we always have safe, functioning assets where we need them, when we need them
  • Providing, operating and maintaining our premises, including facilities management and ensuring statutory compliance with legislation
  • Providing, maintaining and supporting the use of all our ICT infrastructure and systems
  • Supporting the organisation's planning and performance management through the effective use of data, and ensuring statutory compliance with information governance legislation
  • Supporting the daily operation of the Service, through its administration, internal governance, corporate communications, planning and project management and service improvement capabilities
  • Managing the finances of the Service, including payroll and accounts management, to ensure we operate in a financially responsible and sustainable manner within a balanced budget

This strategy explains how our enabling services will contribute to the delivery of our strategic goals. It has been informed and shaped by insights and drivers from a range of sources, including:
