Based on Loughborough road in West Bridgford, the station forms part of the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service South Group, which includes Bingham, Highfields, Stapleford, Eastwood, Arnold, Carlton and East Leake.
The station has one fire engine crewed by wholetime firefighters only. In total, there are 29 firefighters at West Bridgford, this includes Watch Managers, Crew Managers and a Station Officer.
In addition to the fire engine, West Bridgford is also the location for the Incident Response Unit (IRU). This is used for mass decontamination of both the public and firefighters at major incidents. The vehicle also carries powered respirator protective suits (PRPS) and radiation monitoring equipment.
