The Service is supporting World Mental Health Day. The day which was first recognised in 1992, was created to help raise awareness of mental health issues and encourage open conversations for individuals.
The theme for 2019 is suicide prevention. In 2017, there were 5821 suicides in the UK. In England, this unfortunately equates to a person dying by suicide every 107 minutes.
One in five adults experience suicidal feelings at some point in their lives. It is likely that there will be people you know, who may wish to speak out but don't feel confident enough to do so. So please take a simple action and be there for others and listen.
