NFRS male staff with White Ribbon slogans

NFRS supports White Ribbon Day

Today (Thursday 25 November), male staff at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service have been showing their support for White Ribbon Day, which is part of the White Ribbon movement to end male violence against women.

They have been posting photos and thought-provoking messages on our various social media accounts and starting conversations about the issue.

This year’s theme is people, especially men, coming together in their communities and workplaces to say ‘no’ to violence against women and girls.

Our firefighters sometimes have to deal directly with domestic violence victims so they see its consequences at first hand and, if possible, will signpost them to places where they can get help.

You can find out more about the national campaign on the White Ribbon website.

It goes without saying that Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is equally opposed to violence, including domestic violence, against men.
