Travel safely over Christmas

‚ÄčAs students go home for Christmas and we prepare to join family members for the festive season, we would like to remind you of some of the things you can do to help make sure you and those around you arrive safely.

Government plans for the Christmas travel window, between 23 and 27 December, include suspending roadworks and encouraging travellers to plan their journeys carefully, considering quieter routes.  You could try to travel at less busy times and, of course, make sure you check your vehicle before you set out.  If the weather is bad, please drive to the condition of the road.  More road safety tips, including information about tyres, safe distances between vehicles and the dangers of distraction, are available here.

If you're using public transport, don't forget the importance of hand-washing, wearing a mask and keeping your distance.

More information to help you plan your journey and travel safely is here.
