We wish to inform you of the transfer of service of Pension Administration for all Fire Pension Schemes in respect of Nottinghamshire and City of Nottingham Fire Authority.
This will be effective from 1 December 2020 and applies to the formal Pension Administration in respect of:
- Active members (serving Firefighters currently paying into an FPS scheme)
- Deferred members (Firefighters who have either resigned from NFRS or opted out of FPS prior to release of pension benefits)
- Pensioners (members already in receipt of an age-related or Ill Health pension)
The service currently provided by Leicestershire County Council Pension team (LCC) will continue until the above date, and FPS administration will be provided by West Yorkshire Pension Fund (WYPF) from 1 December 2020.
Becky Smeathers, Head of Finance and as Fire Pension Scheme Manager, said: "LCC made the strategic decision to concentrate its resources on the provision of Local Government pension administration and gave NFRS notice that it would not be seeking renewal of its FPS contract on expiry.
"I am grateful to LCC for the exceptional service the team has provided over many years and for the level of work the LCC team has undertaken in the past months in working with the Nottinghamshire Local Fire Pension Board and the new Administrator in ensuring a seamless transfer of service."
