Success at Stapleford's Santa's Grotto

Last weekend (Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December) Stapleford Fire Station hosted the first ever drive thru Santa’s grotto, to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.

The weekend raised an amazing grand total of £3,842.50.

Firefighter, Andy Bennett, who organised and led the event, said: “This is a fantastic amount of money and we cannot thank everyone enough for making this possible.

“The money is being donated to The Fire Fighters Charity, and that will help on-duty and retired firefighters, and their families.

“The pandemic has forced us to think of new ways of working, so this idea seemed great. We wanted to see young people and their families smiling this Christmas, and I think we have done that.

“Thank you to everyone who donated and sent nice comments about the Grotto. Thank you to our local community for coming together in time of need. Thank you to everyone who has generally supported us, it means a lot.”
