Service issues road safety advice after two fatal road traffic collisions in one week

Misterton and the Gainsborough crew from Lincolnshire FRS  attended a road traffic collision on Wednesday which has tragically resulted in a fatality.

Three men were involved in the single vehicle incident, where the car collided with a tree on Stockwith Road, Walkeringham. The other two occupants were taken to hospital for treatment.

This incident was the second RTC this week, attended by the Service, which has resulted in a fatality.  This follows an incident, earlier this week, where a car entered the water at Hoveringham and a woman sadly died.

Area Manager Damien West said: "I would like to extend my thoughts and condolences to the families involved in both of these terrible incidents, the local communities and personnel from all the agencies that attended”.  We are entering a time of the year where we often see an increase in road traffic collisions, with weather conditions and darker nights making driving conditions more hazardous.  I would urge all drivers to check that their vehicles are prepared for the change in conditions, that they check their tyre tread and avoid common distractions, such as mobile phones, whilst driving”.
