Members of the Service's Prevention Team, as well as the Education Team are now live on Twitter.
The accounts, which will follow our District Prevention Officers (DPOs) in Rushcliffe, Broxtowe, Nottingham South, Nottingham North, Gedling, Newark and Sherwood, Bassetlaw and Mansfield and Ashfield, have been set up to give members of the public an insight into the work of the team.
Recent tweets from the team include attending Nottingham Pride, engaging with residents of a local housing company and building relationships with partner agencies.
Assisted by the Service's Corporate Communications Team, who run all the Service's communications channels, each DPO will now be tweeting in a personal capacity to highlight how they help to create safer communities.
The team engages with local communities and all groups within them about fire safety, including local businesses, students and landlords, as well as local councils and other authorities.
Their role also sees them respond in the aftermath of larger incidents to provide community reassurance and engagement, with the aim of keeping people safe and preventing more incidents from occurring.
