The next meeting of the
Fire Authority’s Policy and Strategy committee will take place via Zoom this
Friday (24 July 2020). The meeting will be streamed live on the Service’s
YouTube page and will also be available to watch later.
This will be the second
Policy and Strategy committee that has sat remotely since the country went into
‘lockdown’ in March this year. As part of its response to the coronavirus
pandemic, the Government has temporarily removed the legal requirement for
local authorities – including fire and rescue authorities (FRAs) - to hold
public meetings in person. This means that councils and FRAs have new powers to
hold public meetings virtually by using video or telephone conferencing
technology.
At their meeting on Friday
the committee will receive updates on a number of NFRS projects and programmes,
including Service Delivery Performance, Collaboration and the Service’s response
to its recent HMICFRS inspection.
You can access the NFRS
YouTube site here.
Committee papers are available on the Nottingham City Council website prior to
the meeting.
