Our Christmas colouring compeition winner announced

During the pandemic, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has been business as usual and we have still been attending incidents and being there for our communities. However, we haven’t been able to stick to routine.

We regularly go into schools around Nottinghamshire to talk to children about fire safety. We also invite schools to their local fire stations on an educational trip but due to the pandemic, this has had to stop.

As it was Christmas, we thought it would be great to get a little competition set up for children around Nottinghamshire to ensure they are still engaged with fire safety, and we have now decided on the winner.

Jamie Brimson, aged 3 years old, is the winner of our competition.

His colouring showed Santa looking at the Christmas tree, where presents were in front of it. His chosen messaging said: ‘they’ve blocked the fire exit again, naughty!’

Even at Christmas, we ask for you to leave your escape route clear whether it is in your home or in your business. It is important that you have a clear escape route planned in case there is ever an emergency.

For winning, Jamie will receive a tour of his local fire station whenever government guidelines allow.

We want to thank everybody for taking part and sending in your entries.
