Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service battle the blaze at Langar Airfield Industrial estate.

Crews were called at 2:43pm yesterday (Thursday 21 May) following reports of a fire at Langar Airfield Industrial estate.

15 Appliances attended, with one High Volume Pump, three Water Carriers, one Command Unit and approximately 90 Firefighters from three different Services.

As Crews tackled the blaze, the smoke plumes could be seen from Nottingham City Centre, Hucknall and Bingham.

There are currently five appliances still at the incident with an Aerial Ladder Platform.

Crews are still working extremely hard to extinguish the fire. Once the fire is out, a full investigation will be made to find out the cause.

Group Manager, Tom Archer, said: “We are advising people to keep all windows and doors closed if they can still see the smoke plumes or if they believe it is still affecting the area.

“Crews have worked very hard on this incident and we want to thank the public for their understanding and support.”
