NFRS staff to tackle Ben Nevis walk in aid of Grenadier Guards veterans

A number of NFRS staff will put their best foot forward for a charity walk in aid of wounded soldiers and bereaved family members from the Grenadier Guards.

Pete Hales, Gavin Clark and Marie Naylor from the Prince's Trust team, alongside Firefighter Spencer Morris will scale the heights of Ben Nevis on Friday 22 June.

Leaving at from Chetwynd Barracks, Chilwell the group will join wounded soldiers, and bereaved family members from the Grenadier Guards in tackling the 4,000 ft peak.

All funds raised will go to The Colonel's fund, set up by the HRH Prince Phillip the Duke of Edinburgh, to support our wounded and bereaved Grenadiers and their families effected through combat.

The challenge will be particularly poignant for Pete Hales and Spencer Morris, as they both used to serve in the Grenadier Guards with Pete leaving in 2010 to join NFRS.
