A new
refreshed version of the Nottinghamshire Fire
and Rescue Service Strategic Plan 2019 -
2022 has been published today (1 April 2020).
The plan sets out how
the Service is going to ensure its vision
of creating safer communities is achieved, by setting out the direction and the
priorities of the Service for the years ahead. It also outlines
how NFRS will meet the Fire and Rescue National Framework for England which
sets out the Government’s expectations and responsibilities for fire and rescue
services.
The strategic
plan highlights important NFRS objectives
including: maintaining and supporting the workforce, improving
upon previous achievements, reducing impact on
the environment, and investing in new
technologies, whilst making sure that services are
tailored to meet the needs of our communities
through promoting equality and diversity.
The 2019-2022 plan
has been refreshed to reflect feedback from the recent
HMICFRS report, the appointment of a new Fire Authority Chair, and to
build upon previous Service achievements.
Chief Fire
Officer, John Buckley said: "It is pleasing to see that we have made
great progress in all of our objectives;
however, we know there is still work to be done to increase efficiencies,
maintain our high-quality services and our strong governance and financial
sustainability, and ensure that our workforce remains
engaged and motivated.
"We look forward to building on the aims and actions set out
in the plan to provide you with a safer Nottinghamshire for the next three
years and beyond."
