Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is proud to support the United Nations #HeForShe campaign.
The aim of the campaign is to end gender inequality within society by encouraging governments, businesses and universities to make a commitment to reduce gender inequality within society.
Gender equality is a popular subject throughout society and well supported but it's not just a women’s issue, it’s a human rights issue and when these powerful voices are heard, they will change the world.
The Services undertakes positive action to attract women to firefighter roles and make its workforce more representative of the community it serves. It has recently supported the #firefightingsexism campaign aiming to end the use of the outdated term fireman and promoting the modern equivalent ‘firefighter’ and highlighted some of its female role models for International Women's Day.
