NFRS joins with partners to deliver life-saving training to Nottinghamshire children

Staff from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service have joined with partner agencies and organisations across Nottinghamshire to deliver cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training to 10,000 children across Nottinghamshire.

The initiative was part of Restart a Heart day - a worldwide initiative developed by the European Resuscitation Council aimed at teaching CPR skills to as many people as possible.

The training sessions saw volunteers visit schools across the county and lead a training session featuring an interactive DVD and practical demonstration on inflatable mannequins.

The Service also marked the event by hosting a number of free CPR sessions at Stapleford Fire Station on Monday 15 October.

Andy Macey, Group Manager at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “World Restart a Heart day is a fantastic opportunity for NFRS to support partner organisations in the delivery of life-saving training to children across Nottinghamshire.

“I’d like to thank the volunteers and Crews who have given their time to support this worthwhile event.”
