Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) are
continuing to wrap their fire engines, but this time they’re being wrapped with
Prevention messages.
Phase Two of the appliance wrapping will see a total of 15
NFRS pumps with new safety messages on. The first appliance to be wrapped
was completed at the end of July, with all appliances being wrapped by
early next year.
Messages on the fire engines will cover key prevention
messages relating water, road and fire safety. We are hoping that this
will create awareness around the County, as NFRS continue to keep
Nottinghamshire safe.
Damien West, Prevention Area Manager, says: ‘Our appliances
provide a fantastic presence in our communities and we have decided to use this
to help spread some important safety messages.
“It has been great to work with the team at Root Studio to
design simple, eye-catching graphics that get our messages across to
communities. The On-Call recruitment wrapping that we saw on some of our appliances
earlier in the year, has been a huge success and we wanted to build on this by
wrapping more of our front-line appliances with other important information.
“We want to engage with everyone in our communities, and
this is another way of doing just that. I hope people will keep an eye out
for their local appliance and see what messages it is displaying!”
Tom Bradley from Root Studio, the designers of the appliance
wrapping, said: “After successfully branding the new fleet of engines for
Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue Service in Spring 2019, we were approached by
NFRS to make a similar impression on their existing models.
“Vehicles such as this are an incredibly useful tool
for promoting a variety of safety messages to a wide audience and with the
updated graphics there were many messages that the team wanted to focus
on. The modern messaging on the final design uses bespoke iconography ensuring
that people of all ages and nationalities can grasp the concepts without the
need for wording. In total, a range of 18 icons were created to give the
communications team the greatest flexibility possible.”
“The thought that the icons and messages that we have
created together has the potential to save lives through simple changes in
everyday behaviour made the project incredibly rewarding. With 13 years of
experience producing artwork for business of all shapes, sizes and sectors -
working with the fire service on their vehicle designs has been a real
highlight.”
