The crew at Misterton Fire Station is hosting an open day this coming weekend that is set to be a fun-filled event for all the family.
Taking place on Saturday (10 June) – the open event will give local residents the chance to look around their local fire station and meet their local firefighters.
Visitors will also get the chance to watch a practical extrication demonstration, take a look at a range of specialist fire and rescue service vehicles and find out more about the station's up-coming recruitment campaign.
Refreshments will also be on offer during the course of the day – which is free to attend.
"It's been a really long time since we last opened our doors here at Misterton Fire Station, so we're looking forward to welcoming members of the public on the day," said Watch Manager Andy Horton, who heads up the team at Misterton.
"We're also looking forward to showing people how much things have changed since we last had an open event. A lot of work has gone on in the background to prepare for the day and, as you would expect with a fire station open day, there will be plenty for people to do.
"There will also be an opportunity for people to find out more about what it takes to be a firefighter ahead of our next recruitment campaign – which is set to take place in July this year. We're hoping to see as many people there as possible!"
The station is located on Fox Covert Lane, Misterton, DN10 4DX – and the doors will be open from 12noon until 4pm.
