Fire on Derby Road, Nottingham

Update | 16:15 | The incident at The Strathdon Hotel has now been resolved. 14 firefighters in breathing apparatus with two hose reel jets and positive pressure ventilation were used. Fire investigation is in progress to determine the cause.

Update | 15:15 | Crews remain on scene at the Strathdon Hotel on Derby Road Nottingham. At present, the road remains closed. Thank you for your support whilst we deal with this incident.

Update | 14:00 | Crews currently in attendance include London Road, Stockhill, Carlton, Highfields, West Bridgford, Arnold, Stapleford and Mansfield. Derby Road remains closed and we ask people to please avoid the area.

At 12:40 today (30 August) crews were called to reports of a fire at The Strathdon Hotel on Derby Road Nottingham. At present we have eight appliances and an aerial ladder platform in attendance. Derby Road is closed and we ask people to avoid the area if possible. Local residents are also advised to close their doors and windows if they are effected by the smoke.
