Nottinghamshire Fire
and Rescue Service has now introduced a new online form when
reporting a fire safety concerns at a commercial premises.
Following works on
our website, the new changes allows partner agencies and the public
to report any fire safety concerns via our online form or by contacting
us via telephone or email.
The referral
form can be used for a number of reports for example; a hotel that
has blocked a fire exit could be reported
through our online reporting system. The form allows the Service to receive the
specific information so that the appropriate measures can be put in place. This
creates a work stream for our Fire Protection team to carry out essential
inspections.
Once a referral
has been submitted our Fire Protection Team will be alerted and begin an
investigation into the request. The online form also allows the team
to continue high levels of communication throughout the
investigation.
Area Manager Damien
West said: "Our Vision at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is to create
safer communities but we know that the only way we can do this is with the help
of local people and partner agencies. Our new online reporting portal
makes it quick and easy for anyone to report fire safety concerns when they see
them. All reports will be followed up by our expert team who will then, where
issues are highlighted, work with the business owner to make things safe.
"This new system
builds on the previous telephone reporting that we relied upon. We know
that it is important that people can report their concerns quickly and
efficiently, so I am really pleased to see this resource now available.
Whether it is blocked fire exits, unsafe practices or concerns from members of
staff, we would like to hear about these issues to ensure we can make
Nottinghamshire safer.”
