Emergency SMS service
If you have difficulties with speech or hearing, you can register for the emergencySMS service, which will send a text message to the relevant UK emergency (999) service in times of need.
Simply by sending an SMS message to 999 you can call for help in an emergency and the emergency services will be able to reply to you.
You will need to register your mobile phone before using the emergencySMS service. Visit the emergencySMS website for more details.
RNID and emergencySMS have published a leaflet about the service which can be downloaded by following this link.
