Our firefighters are ordinary people that use existing life skills, as well as the skills that they get from their firefighter training, to do an extraordinary job. Ever wondered whether you have what it takes? Ever thought about whether you could be a firefighter? We want to tell you that yes, you can!
We have wholetime (full-time) firefighters based across the county, at stations such as London Road, Stockhill, Mansfield and Newark.
We also have on-call firefighters based in places such as East Leake, Harworth, Eastwood and Warsop. These are often known as 'retained' crews.
As a firefighter with Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service you would become part of one big family. You would be working within a highly skilled team to respond to everything from fires to flooding, and water rescues to road traffic collisions.
You would also spend a lot of time working within the local community to try and create a safer Nottinghamshire - by educating people on how to prevent such incidents from occuring.
